Shanar is a wizard in the Sword of Justice comic. Searching for angelic resonances stemming from the Crystal Arch, she comes upon El'druin, the sword of Tyrael, in the desert outside of Lut Gholein. The sword traps her there and forces visions of Jacob's life, until the he eventually finds the sword himself and in the process free her. Though the event appears to free her from the sword, she continues to help Jacob by first defending him against Ivan and his thugs, and later on freeing him after he is captured by them.
