Repair is a Diablo Warrior skill which restores an item's durability, but decreases maximum durability. It was considered a useless skill to players of the Warrior class because lower an items maximum durability could mean the weapon would break. Therefore it was better to return to Tristram to repair your item. It is possibly the reason neither the Paladin nor the Barbarian classes possessed a repair skill, because it would not be balanced if it did not have an negative effect, and it was useless if it did.
