- For the Warrior's repairing skill, see Repair (skill).
Repairing is an NPC's ability to restore the durability of an item. After repairing the item's durability is the same as the maximum durability.
Repairing will be charged. The more durability points has to be restored, the more expensive the repair is. Ethereal items cannot be repaired. Some items can repair themselves over time.

Repair in Diablo 2[]
In Diablo 2, repairing is the means by which typically costly spell charges are restored to equipment.
A Ral and an armor piece combined in the Horadric Cube will result in the armor being repaired. Orts can be similarly used to repair weapons. As the repair cost of very high level armor can be many thousands of gold, it can actually be easier to trade for a Ral than collect that much gold.
Ethereal Item[]
In Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction there are Ethereal Items, these items are more powerful than the non-ethereal version of the item. However, they can not be repaired by any NPC. A good suggestion is to give them to a mercenary, because then the item can't lose durabillity points.
