Ivan is a man from the city of Staalbreak and childhood friend of Jacob, the protagonist of the Sword of Justice comic. When Jacob flees Staalbreak after killing his father, albeit in self-defense, Ivan is sent after him to bring him back. Though he was once a friend of Jacob, he has been touched by the same that afflicts their barbarian enemies, and he has become a ruthless man who stops at nothing to bring Jacob into custody.
