Bastion's Keep, originally built by Korsikk, is home to the Barbarians who remain after the events of Diablo II and the destruction of Harrogath and Mount Arreat. It stands guard against the now feral and violent tribes and monsters in the north from pouring into the southern lands.[1] Small glimpses of it were shown during the BlizzCon 2010 Crafting Sanctuary panel, and it is the town the player visits in Act III in Diablo III.
"In my journey to catalogue the various denizens, civilizations, and fauna of our world, I have traveled far and wide, but never before have I been struck with such dismay as when standing upon the ramparts of the ancient fortress of Bastion's Keep. I came to see firsthand the barbarians, those near-legendary, immense, relentless, dual-wielding furies of combat dwelling upon their sacred Mount Arreat."[2]
